Lies

If you lie it is said that you are associated with being a bad person. Lying means that you are not being truthful to yourself nor the other person. A lie is a phrase which fights the truth in order to make it come to life. Without lies we would have no trust, for what is trust without the potential of betrayal?

The word 'lie' is generally only associated with negatives however lying is good; lying is in fact a necessity because the truth hurts. Think of a bad situation and telling the truth about it, someone is bound to get hurt. Lies prevent hurt, hatred and feud. Lies protect people from the truth. In all honesty the truth about the truth is that it hurts and therefore we lie.

Lies are not always so sweet and helpful. When a lie is spoken to someone then the trust is broken; it is almost like a lie is heat and the trust bond is an ice cube so when the lie is told the ice cube melts and can only be reformed perfectly with a lot of effort.

Speaking one lie can potentially cause lots of twists and turns in a relationship therefore, instead of speaking infected words we must remember that honesty is in fact the best policy.

Appearance

Every morning before you go out you wonder to yourself 'Do I look nice?' After questioning your appearance you may adjust a few things such as your lipstick or the coat you are wearing. In society today people do judge others by what they look like although it really is the personality which is important. We all live by the moral 'do not judge a book by its cover,'  but this is almost impossible and however much a person denies this, it is true.

If you do not look 'good enough' then  life is most probably going to be harder due to the shallowness of people; people who are born good looking are naturally one step ahead. Pretty people find it easier to get boyfriends or to get jobs and a recent study does prove this.

However, we cannot blame people for automatically thinking looks are more important. We think like this because of the way society influences us. In magazines and advertisements flawless men and women are shown; there is no reason for this it is just the natural way that things go.

Personality is more than looks though. Smiling every day and being fun to be around is much more than being good looking. It is the ones with the best personality who make a stamp on us, not the strikingly beautiful ones who do not have anything to be remembered by.

Crying

Everybody cries despite each others differences. The second we are born, we cry. When we are young and fall over, we cry. If we are upset over a certain situation, we cry. In fact crying is a good thing. It helps unlock all the stress and feelings within you and helps you to escape to a place of your own thoughts.

Crying is a thing where one can let out everything that is being held inside them. It helps to let out all the stress, the sadness and the depression. Taking a few deep breathes cannot calm you down but letting them out to publicise to yourself can. Terry Guillemets once said, “Invisible tears are the hardest to wipe away. Just let it out, my friend.” Releasing our tears is like releasing something home bound into the open.

Although some people see crying as a weakness, it isn’t. Since birth it has always been a sign that you are alive, a sign which tells others you are or are not yourself. We should prove our emotions to other people to let them know that we are not ourselves and that we need that certain amount of comfort to make us feel better.

We don’t just cry over a bruise or a cut, we cry over an emotion. This is the emotion which leads our life to become the future. Without tears we cannot experience things in life because, we do not just cry over sad things but we also cry over happy things. Every tear we have is a different moment. Each tear we have is something unique and stands for something of its own.

Trust

Trust is a massive thing in many peoples lives. It’s hard to trust someone. It is hard to know whether that one person, friend or companion will keep your secret or reveal it to the world. The major thing about trust is that it can take years to build up and seconds to break. Trust is like glass; once it’s shattered it can never be put back perfectly.

Shakespeare once said “Love all, trust few, do wrong to no one.” What Shakespeare is saying is that we should value life in others as well as ourselves and not perform acts of harm for no good reason. We shouldn’t rely upon everyone to have the same values as us and we should be cautious about who we let close to us, meaning we should trust few to minimise the risk of getting hurt. This quote is powerful. It has the three main purposes of trust within it. We trust people to love us. We trust ourselves to trust the appropriate people. We trust everyone to treat us as they would treat themselves.

The difficulty of trust is defining the line of who we should trust. Walter Anderson once said We're never so vulnerable than when we trust someone - but paradoxically, if we cannot trust, neither can we find love or joy.Without trusting people we will never be able to live life comfortably, therefore when it comes to trust we need to allow ourselves to truly believe in the people we feel are worth it.

Unfortunately, when it comes to trust, we trust people to be who we want them to be and when we realise they are not that ‘perfect friend’ we feel let down and betrayed. In life we need to learn to trust people we are close to but to mainly trust ourselves as we are the only people who can keep our own secrets and give our own solutions to ourselves.

Being You

From the moment you were produced inside your mothers body, till the moment near your unfortunate death, you are always going to have one person that sticks with you through everything. No, it is not your mum, nor your dad, in fact that person is you.

We should never ever change ourselves for people who come within the middle of our creation and our end because once they have gone the person that is left isn’t you. It is somebody fake and different, not the real person who came into this world. Oscar Wilde once said, “Most people are other people.  Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation.” This quote just shows that people live with other peoples thoughts and intentions not their own and it is hard not to get influenced by the people around you. However many times you hear the phrase ‘be yourself’ during your life, it is never possible because once one person has conquered your mind and changed you, you will never be the same person again.

We should never let someone define our lives for us, we should define ourselves. What’s the point in trying to be somebody else and trying to gain other peoples applauds. What’s the point in someone falling in love with the ‘fake us’ in the future. There is no point. If we are not ourselves now then we never will be. "There is just one life for each of us:  our own.” Not our friends or our families. Ours. We should live our lives to our own expectations and our own beliefs. Be the person you want to be, do not be bullied into silence. Listen to the inward voice and bravely obey it.

Change

With a life comes a change and with a change comes a difference and with a difference comes a consequence, whether it be good or bad. Everybody has been through a change in their life. We change constantly. From our age to our friends. We literally change everything within our lives so when it comes to the end of the ride nothing is the same as the moment you were born.

Absolutely everything can change. People, places, scenery. However, the moment will always stay the same. No matter what path you decide to take in life, a moment won’t ever change because at that moment you were a different person with different intentions but then something came a long and changed your intentions and ideas. We should treasure moments we experience because if we don’t then that moment changes whilst we change.

You know, we should embrace change because things do change and friends and family do leave us but that doesn’t mean life stops. Life is continuous for every person and thing in this present world. Unfortunately we can’t go back and rewind time to change somethings that has happened because that will change us and change the future.

One wise thing to take into consideration is that chance and change have one letter difference but without one we cannot have the other. Chance is the consequence of change and change is the reason for chance. We decide what path we wish to travel in life and we get opportunities to perform certain things due to this change in path.

“Change; we don’t like it, we fear it, but we can’t stop it from coming. We either adapt to change or get left behind. And it hurts to grow, anybody who tells you it doesn’t is lying. But here’s the truth: the more things change, the more they stay the same. And sometimes, oh, sometimes change is good. Oh, sometimes change is everything.” (Grey’s Anatomy)

Smiling

We are born with the ability to smile, it’s not something that we copy. Anybody can smile, which makes smiling so special. We smile to greet people, to comfort them or just to show our emotion towards them. It is a known fact that human beings can differentiate between a real smile and a fake smile through their eyes, so when we smile we should mean it.

Someone once said “I’ve never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful.” Every one who wears a smile upon the face has a reason to be happy, which is why each secular smile on anyone’s face makes that person so attractive. If you smile then you automatically give off a positive vibe, making others around you smile, and others around them smile, passing on the joy and happiness to the world!

Janet Lane said that “of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important.” Your expression lets people know whether you are happy or sad, which means others around you can comfort you in a suitable way. It is better to show your true emotion then to smile and say that everything is ‘ok.’

“A smile costs nothing but gives much.  It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give.  It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.  None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it.  Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away.  Some people are too tired to give you a smile.  Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.”

Any body can smile, most of the time there is no reason not too, so next time you are out and about remember, it takes seventeen muscles to smile and forty-three to frown.
